MU:SE
Post-photography series
MU:SE is a series of reworked photographic portraits, each presented as a unique edition.
These faces were photographed five years ago.
Since then, all contact has ceased. The person now exists elsewhere, in a life I no longer know.
What remains are images. Reworked by hand through successive layers, they continue their transformation without ever returning to their original state. This body of work extends an ongoing inquiry into post-photography, questioning what an image becomes once it no longer functions as a faithful trace of reality.
The muse is not a body, but a persistence. Once the connection is broken, the image detaches itself from its referent. It fragments, shifts, and recomposes itself within memory until it becomes something else.
Each work is an archive. Not of what was seen, but of what has been retained, altered, and reinvented over time.
Absence is not a disappearance. It becomes the very condition for another form of presence.
